Community Guidelines

Women in Amazon Business (WIAB)

Last updated: [insert date]

Women in Amazon Business exists to create space, visibility, and opportunity for women in Amazon and eCommerce. These Community Guidelines are here to protect that space — and the people in it.

They apply to all WIAB community spaces, including:

  • Slack and online forums
  • Events (online and in person)
  • Mentorship programmes
  • Social media spaces connected to WIAB

By participating in the WIAB community, you agree to uphold these guidelines.

1. Our shared values

WIAB is built on:

  • Respect
  • Inclusion
  • Professional generosity
  • Honest conversation
  • Support without gatekeeping

We welcome different perspectives, career stages, and experiences. What matters is how we show up for one another.

2. How we expect members to engage

We ask all members to:

  • Treat others with courtesy and professionalism
  • Listen actively and engage in good faith
  • Share experiences without diminishing others
  • Respect confidentiality where it’s implied or stated
  • Be mindful of power dynamics, especially in mentorship and leadership spaces

Disagreement is welcome. Disrespect is not.

3. Behaviour that is not acceptable

To keep WIAB safe and constructive, the following are not tolerated:

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Discrimination or exclusion based on gender, race, sexuality, disability, religion, or any protected characteristic
  • Personal attacks, shaming, or hostile behaviour
  • Unwanted solicitation, spam, or aggressive self-promotion
  • Sharing private or sensitive information without consent

This applies whether behaviour is intentional or not — impact matters.

4. Community spaces & professional boundaries

WIAB spaces are professional environments.

That means:

  • No pitching, selling, or recruiting unless explicitly invited
  • No misuse of member contact details
  • Respecting the purpose of each space (e.g. mentorship ≠ sales funnel)

Opportunities will be shared transparently where appropriate.

5. Events and in-person conduct

At WIAB events, we expect:

  • Respectful behaviour towards speakers, organisers, and attendees
  • Inclusive language and conduct
  • Compliance with venue rules and local laws

If something doesn’t feel right at an event, speak to a WIAB team member. We take concerns seriously.

6. Content sharing and visibility

Members are encouraged to share:

  • Insights
  • Experiences
  • Resources
  • Thoughtful questions

If you are speaking at, recording, or sharing WIAB-related content:

  • Be clear and honest
  • Credit others appropriately
  • Represent WIAB and its community with integrity

7. Moderation and accountability

WIAB reserves the right to:

  • Remove content
  • Ask members to pause or change behaviour
  • Suspend or terminate access

This is always done with the intention of protecting the community, not policing it.

In serious cases — or where harm is caused — action may be immediate.

8. Raising concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that doesn’t align with these guidelines, we encourage you to speak up.

You can contact the WIAB team confidentially at:
📧 [insert contact email]

You will never be penalised for raising a concern in good faith.

9. A shared responsibility

WIAB works because its members care about the space they’re part of.

These guidelines aren’t about perfection — they’re about intention, accountability, and collective respect.

Thank you for helping make WIAB a place where women can connect, lead, and grow — together.
